This study aims to identify the leisure types of working middle aged people and to examine the relationship between leisure types and leisure satisfaction. This study focuses on the gender differences, so this study shows results of the male and female separately. The subjects of this study are 1,113 men and 825 women aged 50-69 who are labour force participants and the latent class analysis and the ordered logistic regression analysis are used. The results reveals that leisure types are different between men and women. Men¡¯s leisure types are sport & amusement type(11.2%), diversity type(4.0%), leisure limited type(344.7%), tour type(4.0%), and sports type(46.1%). Women¡¯s leisure types are sports type(14.4%), leisure limited type(49.1%) and amusement type(36.5%). Sports and amusement type, leisure limited type, and tour type among male middle aged people show lower leisure satisfaction compared to sports type. Among middle aged women, leisure limited type has lower leisure satisfaction compared to sports type. Based on this results, implications for research, practice and policy are discussed.
